Last month the pope visited Portugal and his first stop was Lisbon. We were in language school at the time and our school was close to where he was going to be later that night giving a city wide mass, so we went and checked it out. And I have no idea why this is underlined but I can't make it go away!
Crowds watching him arrive, this was several hours before the mass and people were already there waiting, watching the visit on the big screen.

It was interesting for us, since we are not catholic, to see the preparations and reactions of people before and during the Pope's visit.
Little funny story for ya... here the Pope is called Papa Bento. Mark and I had a little conversation while we were on our way home about how Americans would pronounce the name Bento... it wasn't until later that day that we realized that Americans would not be saying Bento just Benedict, LOL!
